It’s no secret that veterinary technicians have awesome jobs. They can work as caretakers at zoos, provide critical care to beloved house pets, and even research ways to keep animals healthier. For any animal lover, or even people looking to make the world a healthier place, veterinary technology is an exciting field. Here are five reasons why vet techs love their jobs.

    1. 1. Vet Techs travel

Veterinary technicians can occasionally have the opportunity to travel for work. Hate being stuck in an office? Try taking a trip to a client’s farm to provide care for his livestock.

    1. 2. Animals Are Stress Relievers

Studies continue to find that companion animals reduce stress. While a Vet Tech’s job is not play, they still get to work surrounded by wonderful, caring animals. This work environment helps both the technician and the animals be happy and healthy! Working in a hands-on job with animals all day can make for a much less stressful work environment.

    1. 3. Job Security

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job growth for Veterinary Technologists is projected to be 20% from 2016-2026. That’s 12% higher than the national average! Vet Techs could enjoy a growing job market for years to come.

    1. 4. Pet Problem Solving

Vet Techs are required to use their problem-solving skills to help animals get the right treatment. Because animals can’t tell us what’s wrong, Vet Techs have to interpret signals and symptoms to give animals the treatment they need, when they need it most!
